We try so hard to fit in but are so afraid to fit out

I am here right now at an event for Nachle Tour Kenya at Venom. First of its kind in the country where all the top local artists have come together. It is an amazing observation to analyze various types of people that I have noticed where everyone wants to go for event x and event y. Everyone works too hard to blend in from clothes, cars, lifestyle, friends and so much more. I guess that’s why Steve Jobs was so obsessed with Think Different and his campaign.

I see several friends paying for tickets for events and trying to bargain. They get these cheap tickets or pay a big chunk of money for VIP tickets and here I am with access to the artists and backstage access or whatever, these people want easy or no effort. While other guys have to think about whether to buy tickets or not and their poor decisions make them stand where they are.

I see people here standing out waiting for their friends or arrange money. The level their weakness can be seen from far. You can see how lonely they become. Instead of enjoying solitude there they get on their phones and try to keep their mind occupied through Facebook or Instagram or whatever social media networks people use these days. The interesting bit is they have the most powerful tool in the world their minds. A single idea can change everything if they spent their time to think only for 15-30 minutes. I am really grateful for the idea of just spending time and thinking. I wouldn’t be having goals without thinking and being able to think of the unimaginable.

Having the opportunity to make money while they are in the opposite position, I earn from them. The difference in mindset is so different from so many levels. I guess it is what you call hard work and the sleepless nights which people don’t see but it as an overnight success. Every single project I am taking part in is challenging the status quo and that’s the only way to stand out from the whole. I take this opportunity to say that the people who go on stage to give xyz speech or award. They are above everyone else for a reason. They stood out from the rest who are below sitting and watching while the person on stage put in extra effort compared to the rest, hence the society is giving exposure to these individuals.

I was introduced to the Remora fish. Incredible concept and idea. Where you leach onto the whales and enjoy the fruits join their journey. So when someone is succeeding you leach on to them but when you see the whale having a virus and dying, you have to let go and find a few other whales to get hold of their journey. I would like to take an example of Bill Gates, IBM and Microsoft was maybe the biggest deal in the history of tech or even maybe in history. The most simple idea. Leached on IBM’s success and used a smart strategy and then we all know the story from there of Bill Gates.
